Dioctyl terephthalate has good electrical properties and cold resistance, low volatility and higher plasticizing efficiency than DOP. It is suitable as a plasticizer for PVC resins and is used for products requiring high insulation, extraction resistance, heat resistance, cold resistance and good flexibility. It can be used to reduce viscosity and increase shelf life when used in plasticizing pastes. It can be mixed with DOP in any ratio.

Properties of Dioctyl Terephthalate.
1. Dioctyl terephthalate has good electrical and thermal resistance and can replace DOP in PVC plastic wire sheathing and can also be used in the production of artificial leather film. In addition, with excellent compatibility, it can also be used for plasticizing acrylonitrile derivatives, polyvinyl butyral, nitrile rubber, nitrocellulose, etc.. It also plays a role in improving the hardness and deformability of products, and can be used as a softening agent in nitrile rubber, neoprene, EPDM and other products. It is especially used in cable materials with good plasticizing effect and low volatility, widely used in various products requiring heat resistance and high insulation, and is an ideal plasticizer for producing cable materials with a temperature resistance of 70℃ and other PVC products requiring volatility resistance.
DOTP is also used as a lubricant or lubricating additive in paints, coatings and instruments for furniture and interior decoration, as an auxiliary in nitro varnishes, as a paper softener, in biaxially oriented films of polyester amides, and in film and plastic crafts.
3. Dioctyl terephthalate has a similar linear molecular structure to DOS and DOA, so its cold resistance is also better.
4. The volume resistivity of dioctyl terephthalate is 10-20 times higher than that of DOP, and it has excellent migration resistance.
5. Since dioctyl terephthalate does not contain phthalates, it is an excellent environmentally friendly plasticizer.
